It now has additional offices in South Portland, Maine, Enfield, N.H., and North Andover, Mass.Ĭoupe described Insource Renewables as a “longtime friendly competitor.” With its beginnings in Liberty, Maine, it expanded to Brentwood in 2011. ReVision Energy’s roots go back to its formal creation in 2008 with the merger of two solar-related businesses, one of them run by Coupe, now ReVision’s managing partner. So while I really wanted to like Revision Energy and in the end I think the system is now set up and operating beautifully and totally as expected, it took a long time to get there.BRENTWOOD - Phil Coupe foresees all kinds of sunny possibilities now that his ReVision Energy has merged with Insource Renewables.īoth entities deal in solar power infrastructure, and their February merger, according to Coupe, means creation of a larger market for what he describes as “beneficial electrification,” tackling some regulatory issues in Maine, and creating more workforce training opportunities for electricians. Likewise Solrenview was not set up properly and months later we discovered that Revision had not installed the correct meter to report generation. In the end I got the credit but it required monitoring, multiple emails and phone calls. NStar made the mistake but Revision did not follow up on my questions. But two months had gone by and we figured out that NStar had not properly processed the paperwork. There were times when I asked the correct questions (why don't I see a carryforward credit on my NStar bill when the system produces more than I am using) and was told it was ok and would show up when I started using more than was produced. I think that finally at the end of March my first SREC is in the system and ready to pay as of July 2015. In fact my system was on the roof, approved and ready to produce by the end of June 2014.

The installation had a few minor glitches but they were resolved in a timely fashion.īut getting the system communicating properly with the energy company (NStar) and with Solrenview and Mass-cec for SREC credits has been more problematic. I wouldn't hesitate to use ReVision again and highly recommend them.Īll of the people I dealt with at Revision Energy were extremely nice. A small miscommunication with the office in the post-installation period proved the only annoyance but everything was resolved fine.

The utility request was again made by ReVision and after a Twitter message to Eversource to speed things along, I was able to turn the system on for full operation within 12 days of completion of the install. The onsite team of 4-6 worked for 3 days on the 28 panel 11.2kW installation, with the final commission and town inspection completed on the final day. The paperwork was simplified on my end with ReVision doing all the necessary submissions on my behalf. I also got a good feeling when talking to them, checking all the boxes, and were truly engaged without pressurizing a sale at all. Despite ReVision being slightly more expensive and having a longer lead time, they were offering the REC panels I wanted along with the Enphase microinverters. After quotations, it came down to GSS and ReVision Energy, both of which gave excellent proposals. Almost Perfect Project from Start to FinishĪfter doing some research in my area, there were 3 clear leaders based on available reviews.
